Zelluäre Immuntherapie onko-hämatologischer Erkrankungen
Willkommen im Institut für Zelltherapeutische Forschung des Universitätsklinikums Essen!
Das Institut für Zelltherapeutische Forschung (IZTF) befasst sich mit der Transplantation von Fremdgeweben, insbesondere von hämatopoetischen Stammzellen, auch bekannt als allogene Knochenmarkstransplantation. Diese Therapie bietet für Patienten mit Tumoren des Blutsystems, wie z.B. Leukämien, die oft einzige Aussicht auf definitive Heilung, und findet deshalb weltweit zunehmende Anwendung. Neben diagnostischen Aufgaben in der hämatopoetischen Stammzelltransplantation liegt der Forschungsschwerpunkt des Instituts in der experimentellen Aufarbeitung klinischer Beobachtungen an transplantierten Patienten, mit dem Ziel der Entwicklung innovativer zelltherapeutischer Konzepte insbesondere für die Onkologie und die Transplantationsmedizin.
